Simmering is a recreation of my childhood home’s kitchen. The space always felt very warm and inviting, whether it be filled with sounds of songs that me and my sister would dance to, or smells of my mom’s cooking. In the daytime the window would let in light that bounced off the countertops and made the room even more cozy. I made this piece with the intentions of capturing those feelings of the kitchen, preserving it permanently for me to carry with me throughout my life.
