On The Water is a preservation of memory from gathered images that my mother took of my dad driving our little john boat on the pond near our home, with me and my sister being pulled on a tube behind. I have a lot of fond memories of being on the water when I was growing up, and this piece captures the feelings I have when I think back. The painting also represents a portrait of my dad, with some of his usual characteristics such as his beloved drink cooler, flip flop tan line, and a natural light beer in hand.
